Port structure
The Port of Funchal is divided into two areas, North and South, the latter being more usually used for passenger ships, namely quays 2 and 3 where draft reaches -11 metres.

Rainstorm:    5% Summer / 75% Winter

The port offers the following berthing positions:
Quay nr. 1 -  100 metres of quay -  up to 7 metres of draft.
Quay nr. 2 - 425 metres of quay – up to 11 metres of draft.
Quay nr. 3 - 347 metres of quay -  up to 11 metres of draft

The width of quay  nr. 3 is 40 metres with an area of  32,000 square metres

Approximate height of quay from high water = 3 mts
Approximate height of quay from low water = 5 mts

Quay nr. 4 - 100 metres of berthing dock (- 4,00) metres de draft. Designated for fishing boats

Quay nr. 5  - 95 metres of berthing dock (- 6,00) metres of draft
Quay nr. 6  -  260 metres of dock (- 8,00) mts of draft. Designated for cruise ships

Tugs Three, with 3.300 hp each

Tug / Launch One, with 1.000 hp

Fresh water

Fresh water is supplied directly through a piping system installed on the pier. Each inlet of water has the capacity to supply an hourly flow of approximately 30 tons.

Bunkering

Repsol is authorised to supply marine fuel oil (all grades available) , diesel and oil to ships berthed alongside.

The price of fuel varies according to costs obtaining in the international market and more information on this can be obtained directly from Repsol.
Vessels receive prompt despatch.
